Queries Sent to Search Partners
A name, place, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the third-party company that operates that search. Bedford County Released Inmates does not store or log those query terms on its own systems. The provider's privacy terms control its receipt and use of the query.
Messages Sent to Us
If you send an email or contact message, we retain the contents and reply details as needed to answer. We do not share that message outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Standard web systems can record technical details when a page loads. Those details help deliver pages, diagnose errors, and understand use. They may include:
- Internet Protocol address;
- browser name and version;
- device class and operating system;
- pages visited and time spent on them;
- the referring website, when one is supplied; and
- the date and time of the request.
Cookies and Browser Controls
Cookies may be used to measure how visitors move through the site and to support site features. You can block or remove cookies through browser settings. Some parts of the site may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Supports the Site
Collected data is used only for operating, measuring, and supporting the service. Uses include:

- sending a search request to the selected partner;
- learning which Bedford County resource pages are useful;
- finding and repairing technical problems; and
- displaying advertising that may reflect general interests.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links may lead to BCCF, PA DOC, court and release-record portals, federal locators, or outside search services. Pennsylvania agency access to public records is governed in part by the Right-to-Know Law, 65 P.S. §§ 67.101–67.3104, but each destination applies its own privacy policy and operating rules. This notice stops governing once you leave this site.
Advertising companies may use their own technologies to recognize activity across different websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs on the partner's systems under its own disclosures and controls, not as a search log kept by Bedford County Released Inmates.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be handled by:
- search partners that process a submitted query;
- analytics providers that measure site use;
- advertising networks that deliver ads; and
- law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order.
Reasonable Security Measures
We use ordinary technical and administrative safeguards suited to the information handled. No website, network, or storage system can be guaranteed breach-proof. Information sent over the internet therefore carries some risk despite those efforts.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify the request, you may ask to:
- receive a copy of personal data we hold about you;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete information retained by us; or
- opt out of certain processing where that choice applies.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this Privacy Notice as practices or requirements change. The updated version takes effect when posted here with a revised effective date.
